Launching from Nootka Sound Resort with about 20 minutes of flight time left on our drone, we looked at our guide, Ben, and said: “We need you to get us on a fish asap!” Which, of course, guides love to hear. Within 10 minutes (including a quick no-wake coast through Galiano Bay), we were tight on our first fish at the corner of “The Wall.” Ben put Cookie on an upper-teens Chinook right off the hop, and thanks to his knowledge, we managed to get the shot just before the drone had to land.
