In addition to caring for the zoo animals, we also take in raptors that need rehabilitation. Late last week we received this American Kestrel that had been hit by a car on the highway and lodged in someone's grill. Usually for a bird, especially of this size, that kind of collision has a poor prognosis. Somehow this little one was uninjured and just needed some time to recuperate.
