The United Kingdom is accelerating onshore and offshore wind development while partnering with European neighbors to transform the North Sea into the world’s largest integrated clean energy reservoir.

As wind blows it generates kinetic energy, which is energy from movement. This turns the blades on a turbine, which then causes a shaft (drive shaft) within the system to rotate (view diagram below).
